Itaipu is founder and sponsor of the following foundations:

• Itaiguapy Health Foundation, responsible for managing the Ministro Costa Cavalcanti Hospital in the city of Foz do Iguaçu, whose mission is to practice health care actions in the region of Tríplice Fronteira, with ethics, quality and socio-environmental commitment.
• Itaipu Technological Park Foundation (FPTI), administrator of the region's main educational and innovation center.
• Itaipu Foundation - BR of Social Security and Welfare - Fibra, a closed private pension entity (pension fund), nonprofit, with the purpose of complementing the benefits granted by social security to the employees of the Brazilian margin of Itaipu and to its own employees.
