The reduction of energy consumption by the Company in 2017 observed in the table below, was due to the following actions:

• Use of energy from Itaipu itself to supply the Bela Vista Biological Refuge throughout the year
• Increase in the installed power of photovoltaic generation from 21.5 KW to 30.8KW;
• Replacement of conventional split air conditioning equipment by inverter;
• Replacement of lamps and luminaires with greater energy efficiency;
• Maintenance of the low voltage electrical network.
